Doubt Is A Curtain

May 10, 2012

Something cheery for a cheerless day
Something to distract from the clouds and gray
An anodyne while the hours while away
A dream, a song while the devils play

A heavy heart with matching feet
Needs the salve of something sweet
A clouded mind with murky thought
That clears away when all’s forgot

The sun to warm my cheeks and a hand to hold
The moon, not for heat, but for light in nights cold
A dream or a song or a smile that shines bright
A whisper that illuminates your mind in the night

Imagine the things that hide in your mind
The jokes, the smiles, the songs there to find
Doubt is a curtain that needs pulled aside
To reveal all the wonder and beauty inside
